The last built Primitive Methodist chapel in Longton Stoke on Trent, was the Bourne Primitive Methodist chapel on the then Stone Road, since re-named Lightwood Road. It was opened in March 1901, and had cost £4,500. It carried a significant debt. The chapel was demolished in the latter half of the twentieth century.

The land was given by the Duke of Sutherland, and it was in close proximity to the Sutherland Institute (which still stands as Longton Library). It benfitted from being adjacent to the developing suburbs of Dresden and Florence, both built on Sutherland estate lands, and among its members were the influential Beswick pottery family.
