I live in Queensland, Australia and have a Primitive Methodist Hymnal “Presented to Mrs. Nichol by the official members of the Hamil Rd, Burslem (?Burslew) , PM Church (with every good wish for her future happiness and success) on the occasion of her leaving the Church, to take up her residence at Chadley (?Cradley)” signed by M T Hodgkinson, J Rogers Stewards Nov 5 1923.

My Aunt Florence Dwyne, d1977 (and other family) was a life long member and Sunday School teacher. The lectern was dedicated to her, along with two chairs in memory of her sisters Sally & Gertrude. I’m sure they would be sorry to see the Church closed, but life goes on.

My father Rev:G.T Hodgson was minister at this church from 1957 to 1962. The chapel was known as Hamil Road – Clowes . Clowes being added when the magnificent Clowes Memorial Church in Burslem (opened in 1878) had to be closed in 1956 due to mining subsidence .
