Leach, William Syers (1882-1943)
Early years
Born 1882, in Birkenhead. Went to Elmfield College, York, a Primitive Methodist school. He always wanted to be a preacher of the Gospel, and on leaving Elmfield became a local preacher in his home circuit in Birkenhead.
Ministry
After a year in circuit work, he entered Hartley College, Manchester, for training. He loved good books, and was recognised as a preacher of rare ability and power.
He was appointed General Committee Delegate of the York and Scarborough District to the Uniting Conference in 1932.
He died on 23 May 1943.
