The Primitive Methodist chapel was opened in 1870 and  improved in 1902 when a Sunday School was added at a cost of £500.

It closed in 1985.  The society amalgamated in 1989 with Duddon Rd and Keith Guyler’s photograph shows that building was used subsequently as the Church Centre.  On Google Street View in May 2011 it has been converted to a house called, as such places often are, the Old Chapel.

Askham in Furness, Beach Street  Chapel was opened in December 1870. A harmonium was purchased in the1890s and replaced by an organ acquired from Harrow Congregational Church in the 1900s. The schoolroom was buit in 1902. In 1940 the chapel had 220 sittings on pews and there was a schoolroom and three other rooms. The sittings had fallen to 123 by 1980. The building is now in residential use.
