Brown, George (d1838)
Died, Feb. 19, 1838, at Reeth, in Middleham circuit, George Brown. For nine years he was a member of the P. M. society, and gave proof that his peace was made with God. Feb. 6, at his request, a prayer meeting was held in his house; and though confined to his bed by a stroke of palsy, he prayed fervently, wept, and shouted “Glory.” On Sunday morning, Feb. 18,he prayed a long time, and cried out, “Come, Lord Jesus, and Come quickly. Glory be to God.” Feb. 19, he lifted up his hand in token of victory; and he departed about half-past nine that morning.
