My brother and I have recently become interested in researching our ancestors. Before my dad passed away we remember him telling us about a family connection with Methodism. Many members of his family were connected with churches and chapels in the Stoke on Trent area.

It turns out that our great great great great grandfather was a man called James Bourne who was the brother of Hugh Bourne. I am thus most humbled to discover that I am Hugh’s great great great great niece ! I have found a picture of my great grandfather whose grandmother was James Bourne’s daughter.
