Walter Robinson Vaughan (1894-1916)

Family

Walter was born in 1894 to parents Edward Vaughan and Alice Marshall. Edward worked as a Hardware Dealer and Carpenter (1901). Edward and Alice were married in the spring of 1879 at Southport. Census returns identify that Walter was one of at least ten children.  The family moved to Crewe circa 1893.

The 1911 census places Walter in Huddersfield, Yorkshire with his eldest sister, Margaret, and his occupation is given as Butcher’s Assistant.

Military

Walter was Bombardier 12334 in the Royal Horse Artillery & Royal Field Artilliery. He died of wounds.
