Bishop's Offley PM Chapel Offleymarsh Staffordshire

The chapel was opened in 1875 and is still open for worship in 2013

Bishop’s Offley chapel is a fine example of a Primitive Methodist ‘road side’ chapel. There was, until recent building work, a small stable for the preacher’s horse to rest in during worship.

  • For those who are still keen to hear of small rural PM chapels that are still open, well the photograph of the front of the chapel is out of date as we now have two new windows to match the door.  We’re thriving – small congregation punching above our weight.  I could write more, but you may also be interested to hear that when we replaced the two front stones (‘AD’ and ‘1875’) we found a time capsule behind one.  Contents now at Englesea Brook.  We even have our own Face book page……
