My Great Grandfather
I was delighted to read Geoff Dickinson’s page relating to my Great Grandfather.
In 2003, as part of a degree, I wrote a mini thesis on his work and life, with references to his book
‘Under the Southern Cross’.
I hope to revisit the museum within the next few weeks and would be happy to share/ give some materials.
My grandfather, Charles Roger Bower, also a Primitive Methodist Minister and married to Emily, Edward’s daughter ,( also my godmother) had an interesting life of service too- he was imprisoned on a number of occasions for refusing to pay an Education tax which benefited Anglican schools. I have a number of newspaper cuttings which may be of interest.

My Great Grandfather Edward Cook Pritchard was my lovely Grandmothers father her name was Ethel Rose Pritchard who I still miss to this day.
Hi Sue (and Geoff) I’m in the midst of researching a relative of mine – Charles Roger Bower – who seems to be the same person Sue referred to. I would be very interested to see the newspaper cuttings you mention, and also have quite a lot of info about CRB’s siblings, parents, grandparents and so on. Only found this site yesterday – how do we compare notes? Tina
