Ettiley Heath: Return from the Primitive Methodist chapel in the 1851 Census of Places of Public Religious Worship
transcribed by David Tonks

The beginnings of a society in Ettiley Heath may date back to 1835 when a small group met together in a cottage.

The foundation stones for the present building were laid on 26th April 1888. There are gravestones at the front of the building and an extensive graveyard at the back.

  • I’ve added the Return from Ettiley Heath Primitive Methodist society to the 1851 Census of Places of Public Religious Worship. It says they met in a building dated from 1835, which matches the date given as the first meetings of the society.
