Powell, Edward (1823-1902)

Edward was born in 1823 at St Martins, Shropshire.

Edward became a Congregational Minister in Glamorgan, Wales after he left the Primitive Methodist Church.

Family

Edward married Martha Bower Smith (1831-1877) in the spring of 1852 at Lambeth, London. Census records identify nine children.

  • Edward Albert (1856) – a commercial traveller
  • Frederick Augustus (1859-1928) – a PM Minister until 1888, then a commercial traveller
  • Alfred Ernest (1861-1943) – a clerk
  • Sidney Herbert (b1863) – a musical instrument seller
  • Edith Flora (b1866)
  • Elizabeth Annie Eleanor (1870- 1928) – commercial clerk
  • Frank Collyer (b1873)
  • David Livingstone (1874-1939) – a house painter

Edward died on 24 August 1902 at Llwynypia, Glamorgan.
