Memories of Primitive Methodism

Childhood

I have just been reading about the start of Primitive Methodism and ended up in tears as I saw the picture of the plate with the lines “The little cloud increasing still which first arose upon Mow Hill” a similar plate, though without the gold edging is hanging on my wall, it was a treasured possession of my Mothers and brought back so many memories.

Family

I was born into a family steeped in Primitive Methodism, and although Union came in the year I was born I have what must be one of the last Prim membership cards, my Mother must have badgered the minister to sign it as I was only a few weeks old.My Mother never accepted Union and she died in 1976 still a Prim at heart.
