The 1940 Inventory of Methodist buildings records the chapel as built of brick and stone, seating 130 people on forms and having just one room in addition to the worship area. Of the 13 chapels in the South Shields A circuit, 12 are recorded as having bomb damage.

We went to this church for years when we were children and knew Mr and Mrs Miller very well along with their daughter Hazel . Also Belle Henderson. So very sad when it was demolished but we have some fabulous memories.
