1878 Timberland Primitive Methodist chapel
Keith Guyler 1995

The Census records a privately owned Primitive Methodist Meeting House in Timberland built about 1820 though this is unlocated.

The notes with Keith Guyler’s photograph tell us that Timberland Primitive Methodist chapel dates from 1878 and closed before 1940. After closure it was used as an Art Studio and is now (in 2015) a private house.

Also in 1878, the Primitive Methodist magazine records  the laying of the memorial  stones for a new Primitive Methodist chapel just down the road at Martin-by-Timberland in the Lincoln First station. Exciting times!

location: 120583 12 Church Lane LN4 3SB
