The Souvenir Handbook for the 1932 Synod of the Brinkworth and Swindon District describes the two Swindon Circuits. This was immediately before the different branches of Methodism formed the united church. Swindon had grown very quickly at the end of the nineteenth century and the Primitive Methodist numbers with it. Several new churches were built then.
