Stourton Primitive Methodist Chapel Yorkshire

Mayflower Street

The 1940 Statistical return shows the chapel in the Leeds (Joseph Street) Circuit. The chapel was brick built and seated 150 on pews. There were no ancillary rooms or hall.

  • The 1885 Primitive Methodist magazine (page 59) records the laying of the foundation stones for a new Primitive Methodist school-chapel at Stourton in the Leeds Fourth station. Previously they had worshipped in a Board school.
    Mayflower Street was one of a cluster of terraces off Pontefract Road. The area has been redeveloped.
