Muston Primitive Methodist chapel

Hunmanby Street, Muston, FILEY, YO14 0ET

The Primitive Methodist Chapel in Hunmanby Street, Muston, in the Borough of Scarborough, was opened in 1824 as dated on the tablet on the front.

Bulmer’s Directory of 1892 tells us that “The Primitive Methodist chapel is a plain brick building erected 1824, and has undergone no alteration since. It will accommodate 200 persons.”

When Keith Guyler took his photograph it was still in use, but on Google Street View in 2011 it appears to be in the process of conversion to another use.  Pat Donnor tells us that when she visited in late December 2021 it had been restored and converted to  a holiday cottage called The Old Chapel
