Kendall, George (1882-1961)

Primitive Methodist Leader, 1925

George Kendall was born in Hoyland in 1882. As he says in this fascinating article, he began work in the ironworks at the age of 13, just outside Sheffield.

He became a Primitive Methodist minister, training at Hartley College, and beginning his ministry in 1906. During the 1st World War he became a Chaplain, serving in France, and was later awarded the OBE.

He died on 22 July 1961.
