The 1882 Primitive Methodist magazine tells us the foundation stone for a “neat little” Primitive Methodist chapel has been laid at Figheldean, in the Andover circuit. It was expected to cost £250 of which they had raised £60.

The return from Figheldean Primitive Methodist preaching room in the 1851 Census of Places of Public Religious Worship was completed by Benjamin Knight of Figheldean. He tells us that the society met in the house of Jacob Hulberts which must have been quite an experience as 28 people attended in the morning of Census Sunday, 66 in the afternoon and 70 in the evening.. The house was built before 1800.
