“OPENING OF CAMBLESFORTH CHAPEL.

At Camblesforth, in the Howden and Selby branch of Swinefleet circuit, we recently opened a new chapel. Sermons were preached by the Revs. T. Whittaker, H. Knowles, James Dawson, and Miss Lofthouse. The cost of the chapel is about £84, towards which we have raised £38/11/0. The trustees take this opportunity of thanking the farmers of the place for the gift of the leadings ; the ladies who gratuitously supplied the tea ; and Miss Strickland, who, with indefatigable perseverance, collected £22 of the sum we have raised.

Since the opening we have had several souls converted there. You will also be glad to learn that we have peace throughout our borders; although for many months we have suffered much from … … We have now got through the storm, have left the craggy rocks behind, and are fairly out at sea. Through the blessing of God, we have an increase of members for the current Connexional year. In other matters we are prosperous.”

This account comes from the Primitive Methodist magazine of April 1855 and is written by J Dawson. I am unable to locate the chapel and what happened to it; can anyone help?
