Aldridge; Bethesda Primitive Methodist Church, Leighs Wood, Staffs
This little chapel was built in 1890 and closed in the 1930s. The building still stands, in Brickyard Road, close to the junction with Leighswood Road, Aldridge
The former Primitive and Wesleyan congregations joined to build a new, larger new chapel in Anchor Road, in the centre of Aldridge in the years 1935/36 .

The laying of the memorial stones for a new Primitive Methodist chapel at Leighs Wood in the Lichfield station is reported in the January 1891 Primitive Methodist magazine (page 59). The society had conducted services in a cottage for nearly 20 years until an excellent site was secured.
One of the memorial stones was laid by the person who sold them the land , at a reasonable price; he promptly returned the whole of the purchase price as a donation.
The opening is confirmed in the June edition (page 379). It will seat 400 and the total cost is £400 of which they had raised more than half. A Sunday school had also been opened.
