The first chapel to be built in Audley was in Chapel Lane. The Sunday School was built here also in 1875 and this building remains today now converted into two houses.
The 1896 building closed in the 1970s because it became unsafe and was finally pulled down in 1973. On that site today stands Tesco Express.
‘My Primitive Methodist Ancestors’ & Englesea Brook Chapel & Museum are very grateful to AUDLEY AND DISTRICT FAMILY HISTORY SOCIETY for the use of the first three black and white photos, and also to Mr Clive Millington for the use of the fourth black and white photo of the interior view of the Chapel on this web-page.
The colour photos were taken in July 2018.
